During the 2020-2021 academic school year, the nation was faced with a difficult task. The method to educating students would have to be changed and modified due to the COVID outbreak and health and safety concerns. Many teachers were not trained in hybrid instruction and remote learning stratagies. The IDT training allowed me to amend my teaching approach and continue assising my students during that mysterious time.
Here is a YouTube Project that I put together that highlighted my student musicians.
My role was:
Emphasize student musical growth for the academic year.
Use student recordings and “stack” submitted recordings into a usable audio track.
14 audio tracks were needed per student to complete the recording.
Use attainable goals for recording quality and help students evaluate progress of the project.
Present timelines for recorded submissions and “play” the stacked recordings as the group progressed through the selection.
Use assessments to maintain quality for final product.
Grades for students were shown by date of individual audio recording submissions and quality of the soundtrack presented.
Our final project was then rendered into YouTube format and sent to parents, administration and finally used for the graduation ceremonies for the senior class of 2021.
