During the 2020-2021 academic school year, the nation was faced with a difficult task. The method to educating students would have to be changed and modified due to the COVID outbreak and health and safety concerns. Many teachers were not trained in hybrid instruction and remote learning stratagies. The IDT training allowed me to amend my teaching approach and continue assising my students during that mysterious time.
To better communicate and provide access to calendar and organizational matters, I devloped and maintain a public website for the band program. My role was:
Provide accessible and pertinent information that relates to the band program.
Provide and update a calendar of events for the program.
Develop web pages that would help families find resources to use during and after COVID.
Update and provide access points to musical experiences students may not be able to locate and apply.
Provide a usable website to encourage exploration of music and musical opportunities.
A useful place to post photos, videos, and accolades for my students.
An access point for important forms that families can print out and use for school uses.
A website that is a bridge between school and band program activities and expectations.
This website is still active and provides my community with access to our program’s activities. Ease of use is a priority of mine for my families.
