During the 2020-2021 academic school year, the nation was faced with a difficult task. The method to educating students would have to be changed and modified due to the COVID outbreak and health and safety concerns. Many teachers were not trained in hybrid instruction and remote learning stratagies. The IDT training allowed me to amend my teaching approach and continue assising my students during that mysterious time.
This resource page was developed for my students who desired more musical material and activities. The hope was that students would easily navigate and find active links of confirmed and active sites that may interest them in their pursuit of music.
My role was:
Locate and present links that are functioning and beneficial to my student musicians.
Update and refine links as they become “dead” or move.
Be consistent with high expectations and provide good quality resources for the students.
Be considerate to limits regarding restricted sites and inappropriate materials.
Provide experiences for different students with differentiated links that cater to their interests.
Provide printable material students can print, practice, and prepare free of charge.
Provide opportunities with paid apps and websites that MAY offer a refined experience for individuals.
Links to different performing ensembles or streaming opportunities that many may not be aware.
Provide tools for encouraging active participants in the learning events in my classes.
I enjoy returning to the resources page and keeping it updated. I find more engaging and exciting links I am excited to share with my students.
